And then, Our CEO Won Entrepreneur of the Year

A little under six months ago, I joined the Sonatype team. I was unsure of what was to come - but was promised a great company that was growing quickly in a market that was moving just as fast. One might say, it seemed too good to be true. But, I took a leap of faith.

Fast forward to last night, and I found myself sitting at the Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2018 Mid-Atlantic Awards gala cheering as Wayne Jackson, Sonatype’s CEO, was named an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year in the Cybersecurity category. To see the leader of the company I just joined, be recognized on such a prestigious stage - cemented what I already knew - that I had made the right decision in joining an incredible team.

This wasn’t the first time in the last six months that I realized I had become a part of a special place. It started when we won Best Open Source DevOps Tool, and it was clear how proud of our products the entire team was. It continued further when our CMO Matt Howard was honored in the DC region, and how humble he was in recognizing the work of the entire organization. It built further, with news that IDC considered Sonatype an innovator, when SD Times recognized us as one of the 100 most innovative and influential companies in the software development industry, and, even further, when Sonatype was named Technology company of the year by the Maryland Tech Council.

I know the entire Sonatype team is extremely proud of the work we are doing. And, hearing the stories from the founding team and those who have been around for much longer than I have, it’s clear the passion that started this company isn’t going anywhere but up.

To continue to receive recognition from industry institutions like EY,  the Maryland Tech Council, and SD Times - only furthers the desire to work harder, and make it possible for our customers to innovate faster, while building safer software.

Congratulations to Wayne - and the entire Sonatype team. I’m proud to be among you.
