Sonatype Delivers Software Supply Chain Intelligence to IntelliJ IDEA | Sonatype

Written by Sonatype | July 2, 2018

Fulton, MD – May 11, 2016 – Sonatype, the leader in software supply chain automation, today announced Nexus Lifecycle support for IntelliJ IDEA. With this integration, Sonatype is first to deliver software supply chain intelligence to millions of developers using IntelliJ IDEA.

With the Nexus Lifecycle IntelliJ IDEA plug-in in place, developers can pick the best components from the start – without ever leaving their integrated development environments (IDE). This integration eliminates the exhausting research required to source the highest quality, most secure, and least risky components. By building quality components in from the start, Nexus Lifecycle helps development teams reduce technical debt, context switching and unplanned work by 96%.

Additionally, when component issues requiring remediation are found later in development at continuous integration or release stages, teams using the IntelliJ IDEA plug-in are quickly guided through the best upgrades, migrations, or workarounds available. With support for eclipse and IntelliJ IDEA, Nexus Lifecycle now supports IDEs used by over 80% of Java developers worldwide.

“Quality needs to be built into the development processes from the start and not treated as an afterthought,” said Wayne Jackson, CEO, Sonatype. “By leveraging the world class component intelligence available in our Nexus products every day, our customers are constantly improving quality and decreasing costs within their DevOps practices.”

IntelliJ IDEA support is available today for users of Nexus Lifecycle.   For additional information, please go to https://www.sonatype.com/products/open-source-security-dependency-management.
